The Best Ride of Your Life
A WORLD CLASS, MULTI-PURPOSE KART RACING FACILITY
Rok Cup Race Report by Don Mcgregor
Today was the first official day of the Rok International Final from Lonato, Italy, and thanks to SIMA’s Road to the Rok Cup, I was lucky enough to be a part of it. The weather has been great here so far, and after so many years of hearing about the South Garda Karting track, finally getting to drive here has made the whole experience really special.
Getting used to equipment that is not our own has been difficult for our whole group, but we’ve all been doing everything we can to find a fast setup. Finding the sweet spot on the Rok engines we are using here has proved difficult, but we are making progress. In fact, I think my Dad and I are making more progress with our kart than we are with finding our way around the roads here – we seem to manage to get turned around every time we go anywhere!
We’ve had our whole group out for dinner the last couple of nights and that has been a good way to end the day and keep everyone cheerful, even though we haven’t seen the results we’d like on track yet. It’s also been helpful having Claudio Valiante out with us to explain anything we’re all unsure about when it comes to local dining!
Thanks again to Italian Motors and Sumas International Motorsports Academy for this opportunity, and I’ll try to check in again tomorrow.
